My name is Musa Lipwida, and I am a farmer from Ziwani Ward, Nambeleketela village. I have been farming since I completed my secondary education in 1999, focusing mainly on cashew nuts, maize, and cassava. One of the challenges we face during the weeding season is the high cost involved. Additionally, when it comes to pesticide application, we often struggle to afford the necessary amount, which can lead to reduced yields and lower income.

Since I started farming cashew nuts, I have never been able to afford any significant purchases. However, in the last season, I achieved a major milestone—I bought a motorcycle. Previously, I used to harvest around 2,000 kilograms of cashew nuts, but I couldn't afford to invest in anything substantial. However, in the last season, I harvested 772 kilograms, which earned me over 3 million Tanzanian shillings. This enabled me to buy a motorcycle, which has been invaluable for transporting myself, my family, pesticides, and water to the farm. This significant increase in income and ability to make investments is one of the benefits I've gained from doing business with Mama Cashew.

As a farmer, my plea is for support in ensuring the timely provision of inputs. Often, we face delays in receiving inputs, which can affect crop yield. After realizing the immense support Mama Cashew provides us, it is our responsibility as farmers to ensure our cashew farms are well-maintained and productive. This includes producing high-quality cashew nuts to fetch better prices. My goal is to produce high-quality cashews to benefit both Mama Cashew and myself financially, allowing me to expand my operations and provide better living conditions for my family.

I am grateful that, with the income earned, I've been able to educate my children—one is currently in Form Six, and another has completed vocational training here in Mtwara. The support and visits from Mama Cashew bring us great joy and comfort, unlike other markets. Today, we feel immensely pleased to have Mama Cashew visiting us.
